Job Summary
The Senior Tableau Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders. The role requires strong analytical skills, deep expertise in Tableau, and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality Tableau dashboards and reports for business users.
- Work closely with business teams to gather requirements, understand KPIs, and define visualization standards.
- Optimize existing dashboards for performance and usability.
- Integrate Tableau with various data sources such as SQL Server, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Excel, and cloud databases.
- Develop and maintain calculated fields, parameters, LOD (Level of Detail) expressions, and other Tableau advanced features.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Implement and manage Tableau Server / Tableau Cloud environments, including user access and security.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior Tableau developers and analysts.
- Stay current with Tableau updates, best practices, and emerging data visualization trends.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing Tableau dashboards and BI solutions.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation.
- Expertise in data modeling, ETL concepts, and data warehousing principles.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau Server administration and performance tuning.
- Proficient in data storytelling and user-centered dashboard design.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python / R for analytics integration.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to other BI tools (Power BI, Looker, Qlik).
- Tableau certifications (e.g., Tableau Desktop Certified Professional).
